Driveshaft and Shift Rod Seal 1961 5.5Hp Johnson

I want to change the driveshaft and shift rod seals on my 1961 5.5Hp Johnson (CD-18) and was wondering if I can do it without tearing apart the entire gearcase. Also, will I need special tools to get those seals out.
