Very Neat LF! Seattle is a pretty city too! In fact most of the American cities by the water are very Kool! After seeing the Geat Huricane on the History Channel, it is surprizing that so many old buildings still exist. I went down the Texas coast a few years back: it was a wonderful time! We luved running those dune buggies up and down the barrier islands too! 8)JR

LF, from the perspective of a PNW winter, all that sun and all those shorts are hard to take. If I came to visit, I might not want to come home!

I was in Houston about three years ago. We picked up a Texas Cadillac and drove it back home. I wanted to head south to see Galveston but it just was not to be. My FIL's mother went thru the storm as a child.

Are you now an honorary diva of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce?8)

LF, never been to Galveston, but been a lot of places, and everywhere seems to have its particular charm.

I never tire of going to Vancouver BC, or Toronto, or Montreal, or Quebec City, or Boston, or NYC, or Baltimore, or Savannah....or...

Seems like almost anywhere is worth a visit, and Galveston does not look to be an exception to that.

Nice looking town LF, there's a real collonial look to most of those "old" buildings.

It goes to show just how young the USA is, we have some realitivly new buildings that are older.

A long tour of the US is a high priority on my must do list, one day soon I'm going to be seeing this all first hand.
