Re: Dog And the School Bus

I think Phil called those 'roo guards once. Nearly every big truck in photos from down under seems to have those. Kangaroo strikes must be pretty common. They look like solid muscle so I bet they'd mess up a vehicle pretty bad.

Yes, there is the name 'roo bars', and 'bull bars'.
I think it is an age thing. As there are less country fold and more 'townies', the name seems to bee changing to 'bull bars'. There are a lot of Aussies who have never seen a Kangaroo in a paddock.
I think it is a cultural change; the influence from other cultures on our 'names'.

There is also a bar called a 'nudge bar' which does not go all the way around, nor is it as high.
The ones on the buses above look more like extended nudge bars, or small roo bars (bull bars)

Don't know about your 'bars', but ours must be compliant with the airbag system on the vehicle, so they don't prevent the airbags from deploying.

Hayden has just left. Asked him to get a photo of the dog.
"what d' they want to see a dog for?"
Anyway, he has his camera and so lets see what happens.
Anything will be a surprise.

Cheers

1st Update!!

And all you blokes thought it would be a fast black Sheppard model eh?

2nd Update

Hayden; "still can't work out why all those American blokes want to see a dog for! Gidday Kevin!"

"tell them not to worry if they have seen it before on the web. My mate that took it on his phone had to do it for his Dad, who was posting it on his 'place' for all his foreign mates to see too".

3rd Update!!
The driver stopped the bus at a quiet place, and told all the kids someone had complained to the bus company about a speeding bus racing a dog.
He (driver) was questioned about it, and from now on, the bus has to drive normally, and the kids have to stop all crowding to one side and making #$% gestures.

So now, and this is a big secret, it can't get out, the bus does not stop and wait for the dog, but instead slows down earlier and gives just a short burst of the horn. That way the dog is at the fence ready by the time the bus gets there, AND IT'S ON!! .

Cheers
