Does the Mikuni fuel pump work on RD19 35hp?

It says it pump 17 liters per hour. Will it work on the 35? Part is 07-00777 from Aircraft Spruce. Not bad for $20.00 I've seen a Johnson/evinrude pump listed for the 18hp but I don't know if it will work on this model or not. Thanks.

I don't know if it will. I have run them on motors up to 18hp. I would think they would just fine, but have never tried on anything larger.

I was going to ask why you wouldn't use an OMC pump till I saw the $20 figure, so now I understand. Sort of. But an OMC pump will fit right on and be "correct". Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

nothing wrong with the Minkuni pump Frank. They run them on the large remote control airplanes. At the money those guys put in those things they won't put junk pumps in them. I just don't know if it will pump enough.

Yes it will...I have one on my 57 Evinrude big twin and it works fine. Takes a bit longer to pump the bulb up solid. It's a cheaper pump than the OMC pump, but probably won't last as long???

the same pump as listed for the 18hp should work fine.

It'd be close. A 35 should use around 3.5 gallons/hour at WOT times 4.54 litres per gallon and you get 15.9 litres/hour. That's for Canadian gallons. For US gallons use 3.5 x 3.8 which equals 13.24 litres/hour.

I would stick with an OMC pump personally as long as one was available.

The benefit to the Mikuni pump is you don't have to replace a bypass cover, or pull one on your motor and drill and tap it, just to add the pump. You can plumb the Mikuni into your existing fuel delivery arrangement, but you have to find a spot to mount it. I was able to mount mine right up against the bypass cover using longer bolts. I'm just guessing that the Mikuni may not last as long as an OMC standard issue pump...new product for me and no past experience.

It does look like it ( Mikuni) would be easier to mount. OMC's prices are ridiculous.

One person plugged a port behind the carburetor, but some put a plugged tube on the port in front of the carb which is easier.

So what is a ridiculous price ???
I paid about $80 for my 140hp looper replacement.(OMC)
Aftermarket was $56
And they were direct from a dealer as I was in a "have to get one" situation because I was on vacation.
Money well spent for me.

Plug the port wherever it makes most sense your motor. That line sends pressure back to the old two-line tank to keep the system pressurized. Just make sure the plug is secure. I leave a little bit of hose on the port and plug the end of the hose...just in case the next owner wants to go back to the two-line fuel system.
