Does chumming really work????(in a river)

I know that there are all these chumming cubes you cant put on your rigs and i was wondering if they will work in a saltwater river? Any suggestions??

chum is a way to attract fish to your lure...should work...

i grew up in melbourne beach, ive chummed in the river a couple times. attracts alot of snapper, pin fish, other bait, and cat fish, of course, it all depends where you do it. for best results try around the bridges, docks, and canal mouths. its a good way to get bait too so bring your net.

It definetely works. I sink them. In a river, you would obviously want to fish downstream of the chum block(s).

I used to make my own using old potato sacks and the leftovers (entrails, skin, heads, etc.) from last weeks catch.

It works better in a river than on a lake or in the ocean. The current really spreads it way downstream and will bring up a lot more fish.

For shark fishing ,few things work better than blood in the water.
For cod and haddock it works only if you know the direction of the bottom current.

I like to use corn for chum when fishing for trout....havent tried it for sharks
