I'm always looking for pictures of fancy ropework (or other nautical antique stuff) to put on my Library pages: seachests, beckets, scrimshaw, lanyards, bellropes, you name it. I get inspiration from seeing the things that some folks consider "Uncle Freddy's odd item he got in....."

Come and visit the pages yourself. Especially if you have ANY interest in learning how to do this; there's a full " http://www.frayedknotarts.com/tutor1.html"page for you to peruse and kill about a month on.

It's addictive.

Re: Do you have any fancy rope work?

I've been looking at your site and some of the others you've linked. I've always been interested in that kind of thing. I know a few proper knots and can splice twisted rope. Maybe I'll try it out in the winter time.

I have a "walking stick" that I cut and skinned the bark off of about 7 years ago. It could use a little dressing up. I like the idea of some grafting on the top but it's tapered so I don't know how well that would work.

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I've got some, but I don't know if they're the sort you're looking for. Prob'ly wouldn't let me put 'em on here, anyway

My wife make these rope fenders for an antique boat shop.
