Limited time, what if it was a bunch of local politicians, (remember the clinton administration), local cops, firemen, newscasters, priests and nuns, movie stars, high school football team, yep you would hear about it. Pretty quick thinking for a bunch of 18 year olds, to hatch this plan in 40 minutes. Perhaps if this was in a major metro city this may have gone unnoticed, but the small town mentality has a hard time tolerating this type of activity.<br /><br />WildBill you are killing me!!!!!!!!!

Nonetheless being in the media spotlight you would think they might realize that nothing they do is safe from public eyes, and that it might be a good idea to not "do certain things".

I think it just goes to show ya how instant wealth can be so destructive. And there's something wrong in a society that idolizes athletes as ours does...imagine, some semi-literate brute making millions per year for playing ball.<br /><br />This incident is not the disease, it's a symptom.

Imho the degree of attention this gets should be highly correlated with what happened. <br /><br />While I don't approve, if the incident just involved hookers (probably don't even need to hire hookers, enough groupies around for pro athletes to get as many girls they want for free), it should be addressed, but probably more by the team/ league/ city they represent than at the national level. <br /><br />If it involved harrassment (or worse) of the boats female crew members (or any other females not voluntarily cooperating), the seriousness of it rises IMMENSLY (can you say Kobe Bryant?).

On one of the postgame shows yesterday, I think FOX, they said that Minnesota management informed the team prior to the game yesterday that players were advised to seek legal representation ASAP.<br /><br />The interpretation: Y'all are on your own on this one, we aint gonna help you.
