Hi.
I have a 1982 Merc 115 and I am removing it from one boat and installing it on another. I need to disconnect the trim/tilt pump and remove the lines (and probably replace the lines). How do I relieve pressure on the pump/resevoir in order to do this?
Thanks

If the PTT motor is not running, there will little pressure in the lines. Crack open a line a bit and see if some oil comes out. If the motor is up, it's weight will force out some oil as well.

I will try that. The motor is down because I'm getting ready to remove it from the old boat. I read somewhere that the shocks have the most pressure on them with the motor down, which makes sense...but is there equal pressure in the hoses, back to the pump?

Nope,... At rest in the Down position there's No pressure, Anywhere...
