detergent for mooring cover?

We finally got a clear day to take our new Bennington out on the lake. We arrived at the slip and found that the gulls had already christened the mooring cover. I can't find anything on Bennington's site on care for the cover, is a mild detergent and a soft deck brush sufficient to clean the cover? We will be enlisting the help of a fake owl in the near future!

i have used dawn in my pressure washer to clean mine i have one of the low pressure ones at 1500 psi

The easiest way to keep the cover clean is to go to a hardware store and get a painters plastic cover ,very cheap 12x 20 about $4.00 and put it over your good cover.Tape it down in a few paces so it doesn't blow around .Keeps the cover clean and dry.

I would use a biodegradable laundry detergent ( like charlies, or similar) spray it on with a garden sprayer, scrub with soft deck brush, then rinse

Don't put plastic over a cover. It will cause mold to form. Bad thing to do. A good cover made with material like Sunbrella will last a long time even after cleaning. My Sunbrella cover that i made is 14 years ol.
