Depthfinder/fishfinder where to start?

Alright Im bout to upgrade my newly bought "used" boat. 1992 15'2" scout. Upgrade as in electronics. Never owned a depthfinder so any reviews or ones to steer from? Mainly saltwater max 100 feet by far. I don't need a chart plotter but I would like it to be a clean unit. Thanks guys.

Where do you plan on Boating?
15' Scout, 100 ft of Saltwater, are we taking the Ocean?

Do you want a Color or just a B+W display?
What do you expect the Sonar to tell you?
Are you trying to find fish or just the depth of the bottom?
