Suggestions?

Thought about clearancing that ARP stud nut. Just enough to clear. I can sacrifice dip stick accuracy for the clearance.

I'm just thinking about any rattling I may get from it contacting while vibrating.

Bondo, this is my stock dipstick, can't get it through to the bottom of my pan because of my main cap nut.

Cat litter is nice but the fine dust from it gets into motors. May as well build in a dust storm. OCD or no that dust and any dust in the air is by far more destructive to bearings than anything else.

WaltT,

Agree with you! I didn't put it down until after I had all my caps down.

I'm also inside of my garage with the door down. But you are correct would have been best not to - hindsight 20/20.

Update:

I ended up clearancing my arp nut to allow my oil tube to slide all the way down. Also with slight bending.

I would guess around .010 I removed from my arp nut. If it was a 383 or using for race, I would have never considered it. But my original was a 2 Bolt main, I'm pretty confident that what I removed didn't sacrifice integrity.

Got everything together and runs like a champ. Ran about 30 minuets yesterday. Now just need to do my bellows and replace my bearing.

Thanks for all your guys help! This place rocks!
