If i do cut my shaft, has anyone ever resplined the shaft thats in the lowerunit and weld a splined socket to recieve it on the existing shaft thats already stuck in the crank????

I'll give you a hand on Monday if it's not sorted. While its upside down we will get one of us hanging on it. Another with the blow torch on the splines and get a big beast like James to pull on the pull cord. Could get dangerous lol

you probably have already, but have you disconnected the shift shafts from each other?
