Hi all,
Very new to boats and I just came across this and could not pass it up. A few hours of searching Google later, I'm now desperate to find out more information about it and Google simply is not able to help me. I'm looking for ideally the full story of this boat and company but at a minimum, the max payload and engine size. Can anyone help please?
How fast can it go with a 70's 33hp Evinrude with the right prop? And where would I find props for this thing?
Please help, thanks in advance

First off, a 33 is an odd duck. You may want to think about a more currant model outboard for it. The OAL of that boat doesn't look very big. How fast will it go? Well, that depends on motor size and weight. I would guess with a 15 it may go faster than you would feel comfortable. With a 30 things may get a little weird. I know of some that put a 50 on a boat that size, but they're insane.

The 33 HP was marketed from 1965 to 1970.----An excellent , simple , reliable and easy to maintain motor.---That boat would do about 30 MPH.----Your location ?----Lots of props listed on " flea-bay" I am sure.

To me restoring this boat is like restoring an old car, I could not put modern wheels or a modern engine in an old antique.

Would I be better off with a 25hp sportster? I heard that with a small boat and racing prop, it has hit 47mph. According to Oldiron, I must be insane😁. Near Montreal, Canada, why do you ask?

Based off size, eons ago...pre-internet, amusement parks used to have these small power boats you could rent. I don't think its too much of a stretch to think that *might* be part of its history.

I see similar sized boats come up on Craigslist that tout just that - former amusement park boat.

Neat little boat in any event. Not sure I'd be tossing any kind of extreme power on it due to the size but that's just me.

Those little two seaters are cool. I can't always tell what I think about the practicality, but they've got some fun style. You may want to look up some threads / posts by Frank Acampora (you can look HERE). Frank passed away a while ago, but as I recall he built a couple of those types and he liked to go fast.

My skiff hits 29 mph with a 25 hp. Weighs about 300# + 115# for the motor. Guessing that you could expect similar numbers.

I never said that you were insane, but in in my opinion if you put anything bigger then a 5HP on that thing you may want to consult a mental heath expert. LOL. Boat manufactures have been putting HP and capacity ratings for a very long time. Even on boats of your vintage. If it has none of that, my feeling, along with others here, it was never intended to be a PWC. It's not entirely about the HP, it's about the weight of the motor and how much stress it will put on the transom at warp speed. My advise, which you probably won't take anyway, is to start small, and work up from there. Good luck and be safe.

Please call me insane, I really like it😄. That boat had a 25hp evenrude sportster and was even tried with a 40hp but it apparently was scary. I put a picture of the plate in the 1st post but you can only see what was stamped. The text that was most likely anodized is not visible anymore. I am trying to sharpen the image but no luck so far. That's why I'm trying to find info on it

that boat may have only been rated for 10hp.

the boat is similar in size to the wooster hellion I had, which was rated for 10hp. it would fly with 15. however because it was so small, the hole shot sucked, having to lean way forward over the steering wheel to get out of the hole

remember, hundreds of thousands of boat companies came and went before the internet. so unless there was a reason for someone to publish something after the early 90's lots of information is not digital.

From the last picture in the 1st post, if you open it, you can see "36-exempt" does this mean 36hp max?
