I have a small crack in my deck near the back that in my op is only as deep as the coating. It is only about as wide as a fingernail. What do you guys suggest doing about it, and what to use for a repair.

Troy, If the crack is only as deep as the gel coat, you can use some tinted gel coat to repair it. It will likely crack again, if the crack was caused by normal use. If you plan to repaint the boat, you can use some polyester surfacing putty. You probably want to widen the crack a bit to allow the gel coat or putty to have more area to stick to.

I would use some sort of putty to make sure it does not return.

Sask, If the crack was caused by normal use, it will crack again, unless you use cloth to repair it. Putty cracks the same as gel coat, but is a bit easier to work with.

To quote troypolla's 1st half a sentence; I hope I have that problem this year.
