First go around for me with Covid. Managed to avoid it all this time. Heard all kinds of folks say they had it and was barely like a mild cold for a day or two, or no symptoms. Not my luck. Been good and sick for a week now. Like the flu x 5. Fever finally went away today, Stuff ain’t no joke. Wife has it now as well.
No clue where I could have picked it up.

That's a bummer.
A friend of mine's wife caught it a couple days ago. Sounds like she is down and out too. Waiting to see if the friend is going to get it. Glad to hear your feeling better!

Kids at school ? Shopping in stores ? Eating out at anyplace. Friends get togethers. Cars & busses. For starters.
Good luck to both /all of you.
Wife and me have had all the boosters. No signs yet.

I’ve had it three times, and it’s never been much fun. First was before the vaccine was available and it was the sickest I’ve been (except maybe for pneumonia).

I’ll be happy if I never have COVID again.

Once you feel well enough, be very careful and thoughtful of what you do. A simple shower wiped me out for 3 hours afterwards. Simple tasks like sweeping leaves off the boat cover left me gasping for air.

I got covid once I know exactly where and how I got it, I am pretty good at avoiding close proximity to others.

I got Covid once after the initial vaccines. Fairly mild. . . Got it from an extended family 'super spreader' . Then after the several boosters, I (we) were exposed to another extended family super spreader and neither the Admiral or I got it. The boosters seem to work pretty well on the variants.

That friends wife had all the boosters and it didn't help lessen the severity.
I believe I caught Covid from a bud in Dec '19. B4 Covid was a thing a few months later... Sickest I have ever been....

So nice of you to share it with your wife!

So many variants of the crud ... most have evolved into milder forms, but every now and then one comes along that is potent. Take care of yourself and the Mrs, Flathead!

Thanks Art, The Mrs and I tend to share things like that😜
I got the initial vaccine and one booster. I retired and never got any more shots. When I go on Medicare in March I think my doc said I’ll be getting a pneumonia shot, I’ll also get a shingles, don’t want that crap again. Not sure if I’ll take another Covid shot. The stuff doesn’t seem to really work.

I goy my first Covid in June 2021. Was not that bad. Got the latest variant in June of this year...was VERY bad. Two weeks after I got over it and I did a hike over 10K elevation and I was almost dizzy due to lack of oxygen. Never had that issue before. Spoke to my Dr friend and he informed me that Covid does a number on your lungs ability to absorb oxygen.

Unfortunately, my friend's dad got the latest variant 3 weeks ago and he did not survive. He was upper 80s.

Personally, that's a bad idea. Talk to you Dr and do what he suggests. It doesn't prevent...just reduces how hard it hits you.

Since you just got it, getting the vaccine now is not necessary. You should wait at least 4 months. I did happen to get the latest vaccine this last August and I should have waited longer since i go Covid in June. The next day I felt pretty bad since I had a lot of anti bodies reacting.

My wife has heart issues from her booster that was mandated.

I have had an aortic valve replacement because of a birth defect. My cardiologist told me to stop taking the COVID shots after the first booster came out because of the possibility of myocarditis. He claimed that each booster just increased the chances of myocarditis.

I had COVID once, and that was enough. I really don't care to have it again.

Both my mom and MIL got AFIB shortly after receiving Covid boosters. Not 100% sure they were related to the shots, but seemed pretty coincidental...especially that it happened to both of them. Neither had issues prior.

As a person that’s had heart surgery to correct severe AFIB passing on a Covid shot certainly isn’t a “ Bad idea”

We come with varying degrees of natural immunities. So do our reactions to anything we put or get into our bodies.
All of the T V self medicines are proof of the risks. To eliminate skin blemishes ? Take this Over The Counter Medicine. And die or be paralyzed.

Oh well.
