Seems the oil dipstick threads in the cover have stripped. The cover is part number 21136720 with an approx. cost of $200.

Question, anyone else have stripped the threads? seems mine were always a little suspect and using a eyebolt threaded into the cover to remove the drive, per instructions I read online somewhere did not help.

Question 2, was able to screw in the plug even though not many threads left, will it seal?

Question 3, anyone ever take off this part and put in a Heli-Coil?

Thanks for any help

Re: Cover oil plug stripped threads

Your part number isn't a good number.
If you do try a heli-coil, it has to be perfectly straight or the dipstick will leak and the dipstick may contact the inside of the shaft.
Replacing the cap is the best bet.
