Cost to detail 22 Cent Cons boat

I'm trying to see if a quote to detail a 1999 22 ft CC is reasonable. The boat has spent a few years uncovered out of the water on a lift and is in for service. The marina recommended wet-sanding from the rub-rail down and standard detailing inside. The want $27/ft for all this. $17/ft for wet-sanding and $10/ft for detailing from the rub-rail up. Of course, they won't let anyone else in the marina to do it, so it's either them or someone else when it's back on a dockside lift.

This is in Miami, Florida.

What are your thoughts?

Just under $600 to wet sand, wax, polish the hull, and clean the cockpit? Doesn't seem unreasonable to me. That's alot of work.

Okay........ if you have the time and energy.... you can purchase a high quality polisher and expend your energy to DIY

Sounds like a reasonable price. You will likely find similar rates from other professional licensed boat detailers. I work at a marina where several detailing companies regularly work, and they are in the same ball park.

I spent 3 days straight detailing my Monterey 214FS. Probably in the 35-40 hour range and my boat was pretty clean to start with, so that seems like a reasonable price, especially if it needs wet sanding.

The price doesn't seem that bad but you could always get other estimates. One BIG advantage of having the marina do it is that you can see other boats they have done right there and decide if it's worth the price for you.
