Correct carb for 9.9 by serial number

Hi, need to know if a carb stamped 388272 will fit a 1986 9.9 Evinrude? Thanks in advance

Carb part numbers are usually on metal tags. You may be looking at a component part number. See if the number matches anything in a parts blow up for an '86. (carb i.d. not at easy as it sounds, imo).

Ok thanks. It was actually stamped onto the carb body itself. I don’t think that portion was even on the parts lists I was able to find.

Yeah, but nonetheless.... Check that number against carb model numbers you might find online. Try the "shop" section here at iBoats. (btw You want a model number, not a serial number.)

Will do, thanks. I was able to find a reference to it being from a 77 but I don’t know if that will work on an 86 if the same hp.
