I have my 5.5 hp '63 Gale / Evinrude ruinning in a 5 gallon bucket of water - but is seems to run hot. Is there a way I can use one of those suction cup things wih a hose hook-up? With the motor running in the bucket, there is so many bubbles etc. that I'm not sure the pickup can get much water. Is there a better way to run the motor and keep it cool?

Thanks!

Muffs won't work on that motor. You need a bigger bucket, like a garbage can. If you are talking about the plate on the side of the powerhead, it is supposed to get hot. VERY hot. There is fire on the other side of that plate.
