So if the leak continues (due to the grooves) does this mean a new cam is required?

Nope, the spedi sleeves cover the grooves giving you a new surface for the seals (you may need two sleeves). Remember when replacing the seals the garter spring faces the stuff you want to keep in. For the cam seals that means they both face toward the coolant, away from the block and for the oil seal it faces the oil toward the block.

Leak seems to have stopped. (haven't run the engine yet)


Putting balancer back on:
Other than putting it in gear, what's the best way to stop the motor from turning? She's not quite on and is turning the engine.
