Cool river sightings 2 days ago...

Every once in a while we'll get some dolphins up here, usually just a few. This year much more than normal, seems that we have a pod coming in from the Chesapeake every few days. Got the skiff in the other day, and rode with them down river for about 7 miles. Hard to tell from the pics, but there were at least 100 of them surrounding us, swimming around/under the boat. The boy was beside himself he was so excited (he managed to touch 2 of them). Really incredible being so close on a tiny boat.

Very cool. I've had them swim alongside the boat for miles heading to Block Island.
This Spring, they were up deep in Narragansett Bay all the way in to Providence on the Rhode Island side, and up into the Taunton River on the Massachusetts side. Things seem to be changing yearly.
Very beautiful and graceful to watch, and you can sense their intelligence when they look up at you with those eyes!
