Converting pull start to electric start?

Hi guys,

I have a 6 H.P. Evinrude kicker motor on my boat, model #6BALCR 1984 model. It has a pull start on it, and I would love to convert this excellent running motor to an electric start motor. I do not see any room however where the starter would go under the shroud on the motor, unless there are some of the manual pull start parts that I would remove to convert it to electric start. Is it possible to turn this in to an electric start motor? Is it a real tough job to convert it or can the average backyard mechanic do it without too much of a headache? Thanks.

No, there is no electric start available for your motor so no conversion can be done. If you want electric start sell your motor and buy one that has it already.

Your question deserves respect. You are not the first one that has asked it. Might be a opportunity for somebody interested is a new business venture.

Thanks. Was just wondering if it were possible or even feasible if were possible. I'll just keep it as it is a 1984 model and has almost 100 hours on it. Runs and looks like new. Thanks!
