Re: Converting from tiller to console steering???
If you have electric start, the job is do-able, but probably not cost effective, especially with new parts costs. It may well be better to get an EP (electric/remote) model, rather than converting your (tiller) model. If you are presently pull start (only), and want to convert to electric start, add that cost (for starter motor, and all the associated bits) in as well.
The actual process depends on the kind of steering you want. Modern, single-ended "Teleflex Style" steering requires quite a few parts changes, but if the boat is already setup for "Tiller Cable" double-ended steering, you can get by with fewer changes.
Review a parts catalog, available on Elvin's website, and that will show you the differences in castings, etc, that will be steering-related. You will also need an RC fitting kit, to connect the throttle, shift, and key start stuff for the RC box.
