I'm looking for new controls and the side mounts I'm finding say outboard but look identical to the one in my buddies boat. Wondering if it'll work with my alpha 1 gen 1?

Why not get one for the mercruiser setup, instead of O/B? Not 100% sure what is different, other than maybe the wiring harness. Priced about the same.

Lots of choices out there, but I would beware of the Asian super cheap stuff, as parts may not available.

Controls should identify what engines they will fit.

if it don't say Alpha, find one that does. You shouldn't have an issue finding one as those type were used with Alphas for decades.
