connecting gps to vhf

i have a garmin gps 152 and a navman 7100 dsc radio, i have the lead from the radio that attaches to a gps unit but how do you do it ??

i cant see anywere on the gps were the lead connects to as i only have the antenna slot and the power slot on the back of the gps ???

anyone any ideas on this ??

thats was the answer i was looking for i wasnt sure if it was compatable so it looks like a new gps for me :p see if santa can send me a l8t pressy :)

Pro, The interface between the radio and GPS is a serial one, using two wires. My Garmin GPS 12XL has this interface contained in the 4 pin power and data cable. I would think that if your GPS is newer than mine, it would have it as well.

Pro, You might go on the Garmin web site and see if they have an owners manual for your GPS. Look for an NMEA serial interface. That is the one to connect to the radio

The 152 does not have the ability to display a DSC position on the plotter screen but it does have the ability to send nav data to your radio for a DSC transmission. You'll need to connect the blue (TX) and brown (RX)wires to your GPS
