Compression check

I would like to check the compression on my<br />1989 Johnson 150hp OB. Will a standard compression<br />tester from a auto store work? And how close should the readings be to each other?<br /><br />Thanks<br />Dan

Hi Dan, <br /><br />A standard automotive tester should work just fine. The readings should all be within 10-15% of each other I beleive.
