Many Thanks goes out to the people on iboats that answered my questions and helped me in anyway. I'd like to bring you up to speed on my boat. I bought this boat about 6 months ago, and have been working on it ever since. It is a 1984 17' open bow with a merc. 115hp. The tilt was the only thing that worked when I bought it. The compression was 130 psi on all six cly.(the only good news). The electrical system was shot right from the door, so it was the first to be replaced. I rebuilt the lower unit and water impellar/housing. Rebuilt the carbs and lines because they were leaking and plugged with old gas. I got the "tower of power" running very good after a minor tune-up. The boat, on the other hand, was a different story! There was a little tree growing from the floor(I'm not kidding). It has been sitting in the rain since 1998. The trailer tires and bearing were frozen, the stringers, floor, and transom were rotton. Up to the present, every is completed, and it has the first layer of primer on it. I hope to have it ready for the up-coming crabbing season and fun in the sun in NJ.
