I covered the board in resin let dry, wet out 1708, laid it to where it overlapped and went up the sides, then laid 3/4 May on top of that also overlapping and went up the sides some.

Soo Are you done with the Lay up is there more scheduled??

well I'm debating on putting another layer of 1708, but judging by the width of the fiberglass that I cut off before that was from the factory its not much thicker then what it has on it now. Regardless of if I put another layer of 1708 down, I'm Making new chines that are going to be glassed in and put another layer of resin over what's on now so that its all a even surface. This is my first time doing all this so what would you suggest that I do?

Well you changed the entire structure of how the fiberglass boat was built. It's more like a wooden boat with fiberglass sides now. The glass serves two purposes, One to add more protection against abrasion to the wood and 2 to prevent water intrusion. The thickness of the wood should act as plenty of thickness to prevent penetration from stobs and stumbs from poking holes etc. I'd for sure put another full layer of 1708 over the entire bottom. Resin with out glass is not very strong. Make sure it wraps over the sides at least 3-6 inches as well. What did you do on the inside?

I don't see how I'm changing the way the boat was built, I replaced the wood that was already (on the 2nd post of the thread in the second picture you can see the original wood) there to begin with because it was rotten due to damage to the hollow keels/ chines (I'm not sure on the exact terminology). The inside I haven't started yet, I will begin with that once I finish the bottom, but more or less the same thing I believe, 1708 over entire surface with about 6-12 inch overlap going up both sides then overlapping all of that with the 3/4 mat.
