Cold compression test question

will a compression test on a cold outboard be as accurate as one done on a motor thats been warmed up?

No....not as accurate, but will still give valuable info. Basically you are lookung to see if there is enough compression for the motor to run, and are the cylinders within specs to each other. Typically you would get a little higher comp reading on a warm motor, but just to tell if the motor is junk, cold testing can work. At least that has been my experience...

In most case , yes,----What motor are you testing ?===What is your motor doing not doing?
