clutch dog.....still worth using??

sorry for the pic quality, but is there any life left in this old dog? ( looks worse in the pic than it does in hand, and that is the better of the two ends)DSCF2053.jpg

Is this from that 5.5? If so I mailed that pin last week, I could have thrown the dog in the envelope too!

Looks pretty rounded from the pic, although hard to tell, she is blurry.

If it is shot anyways, I would try to take a dremel to it to square it off. I have never tried it myself though.

yup, thats the 5.5, its blurred (almost looks double) in the pic, but measuring the depth of the dog at 5mm, the rounded off section is 1mm. pin hasnt arrived yet....but thanks again!

the fwd gear has just the slightest bit of the square edge gone, reverse gear looks perfect. (id take another pic....but my photo skills are very much lacking!!)

You can always try a new dog and see what happens. Just make sure your shift linkage is good and tight and adjusted properly.

not sure if the motor had any shifting issues, it hasnt been run in 30+ years, , i rescued it a few years back from a shed that collapsed onto it . my avitar is the cowl from the motor, and the rest of it is just as rough. could be in over my head on this one! lol

Well thanks. I never could figure out what your avitar was as I didn't look close enough. now it makes sense.
