I have a 1987 sea ray. I am rebuilding it and had to replace the motor. I have installed it and hooked up all wiring but when I go to start all it does is clicks. I have power transferring to all the posts correctly but all I get are clicks. What could be my problem?

Thanks jay

Howdy, we need to know what motor your working on (merc, VP, 3.0, 5.7 etc)?
Once we know we will have a better idea of how to fix it and maybe GA_Boater will move it to that section

Is the battery fully charged and measuring between 12.5 to 12.7 volts?
Are the battery cables clean at both ends?

If this is a Merc then there is a slave solenoid on top the motor. Find the solenoid and jump across the top 2 larger terminals to see if the starter will engage

Jtaul I'll move it when we get the answer to AllDoge's question. It's electrical, but It's motor electrical.
