Re: Classic boat pic gallery (20yr and older)
Here's my 1979 Galaxie of Texas 1700 Granada with a 1975 Johnson 85hp. It's 16 feet long, not sure why the 1700 model number? Bought it about a month ago. Previous owner (the original and only other owner of the boat) couldn't get her running right this year and decided to give up after all of those years (he put over $600 this year in coils, trigger, power-pack, etc.. I spent $60 for an ignition switch). Said his Grandkids weren't interested in anything but their video games when they came to visit. Picked her up for $700 after my wife said I should buy her. You have to understand that my wife was dead-set against a boat. She didn't want her (our) kids in water that they couldn't touch the bottom. After taking her out once, she's hooked. She calls almost every day at work asking if we are going out on the boat today! The kids also love it. I bought a tube and we have been going out almost every day to use it. Only problem is, now my wife is looking at all of the fancy boats thinking we should get one of those.
