It's supposed to be sunny and 72* here.

It's not called the "Valley ON the Sun" for nothing.

So. Cal. sent a few days of heavy rain, for here. We welcome it.

I hope all the So. Cal. folks come out OK.

Well up here in the great green northwest (Canadian side) here we are looking at about 5?c today (...about 40? F+) and climbing. Christmas day will be about 10?c (about....50?F). No snow...which is typical, just some rain and some wind....again typical.
No Parkas, no snow pants, no snow boots, no mittens or gloves, no iced over lakes, ....pretty much none of that. Lots of folks out in town yesterday wearing shorts (no kidding!!).
We might see some snow at some point in the New Year, but I wouldn't necessarily bet on it and if we do it will be about a 2-3 day affair. We get a pretty easy winter here and spring starts to hit here in February.
That said, although we don't get it very often, I wouldn't mind a white Christmas from time to time.

Just took the trash out and it's pretty cold. Cold enough that I seriously doubt that the snow will melt before Christmas day .

Very unusual for us. We normally would have snow and all the lakes and ponds would be frozen. We have had nothing but rain and wind for about 2 weeks. Temperatures about 3C to 7C. (37F to 45F). The lakes and ponds are not frozen at all. Forecast is rain until monday then freezing and heavy snow. "Calgon, take me away. "

48 on Christmas day with a low of 22. Weird year this year 10 inches of snow total so far when we should have had at least 20-25 inches and the temperature has been very mild.
