I have a 74 chris craft lancer that the customer wants restored. to start it has low compression in the back cylinder on each side. the first question is are parts available to rebuild the q motor that it is rigged with, if yes were can they be found. if no, than is it possible to go with a newer fuel injected motor with out major stringer modification to align the trans to the prop shaft. some have told me the q motor is junk and not worth rebuilding. i just want to get some other oppinions on how to proceed with the job. the customer was told the engine ran but when we got it the valve covers were off, the distibutor was loose as well as the cap, and the heads look new. i want to try and fix a bad situation with out adding 10,000-15,000 to a bill that is steady climbing by the day. if anyone thinks they can help here is my e-mail EDIT email me and i will give you my cell number . thanks in advance, Don

Re: Chris Craft restoration, many questions

You need to post the engine question in the proper engine forum.
