checking for spark

hi all I have a 74 merc 1150 with NGK HUBW plugs no gap what is the best way to ckeck for spark and how much spark am i looking for my motor just cranks and cranks and will not fire

hubw plugs have nothing to gap there is no protruding electrode coming out the threaded side its flat witha little round piece of metal in the center surrounded by ceramic

Go to an auto supply and buy a spark tester. BTW they are BUHW

What laddies is referring to I believe is to use a spark gap tester with the electrodes set 7/16 " apart. These are available at most auto stores.
