Changing Power Heads

I have a 6hp 1970 Johnson and a 1979 6hp Johnson with a bad powerhead. Can I put the Powerhead from the 70 model onto the 79 model? The 79 motor housing and lower unit look alot better than the 70 model.

As a unit, the powerheads will interchange. However, you might run into some issues if you try to mix and match as the '79 had CD Ignition, while the '70 had a magneto. The ignitions may swap out, but I'm not sure if the crankshafts have the keyway in the same position...
