changing outboard foots of different years

[DILLIGAFF]

I have a 2000 50 hp 2 stroke johnson outboard with a bad foot, but I have a 1981 50 hp johnson with a good foot.

Can I use the old foot in the newer motor, they look the same?

Sorry but no.. 1976-1988 will interchange with each other and 1989-2005 will interchange with each other.
