Is there a certain way I can pull my old motor and put a new one in and it stay aligned right? In other words, how can I pull my old one so my new will be aligned when I bolt it up?

Re: changing engines

I'm still learning, but could you not just use an alignment bar upon installation?

Re: changing engines

You can try and not move the engine mount nuts and try to see if it will... But there would be no way to know unless you stick an alignment bar in there and check. Just buy the stupid bar and do it.

Or do all the work up to that point, go to a marina fork over 75$ and have them do it.

Whcih would cost you twice as much $ and you would have the hassle of taking the boat there.

But I guess if REALLY dont want to buy one............

Re: changing engines

you are going to have a hard time finding anyone with OMC parts in stock. your looking at either borrowing one, having a dealer align it, or ordering off the web.

Re: changing engines

We're talking about the alignment bar right? If so oh don't need an OMC one. They're the same for OMC merc. etc.

See if someone will loan you one maybe?
