Changing 50 ELPTO to premix fuel

I have a 2002 Merc 50 ELPTO. It's a three cyl. two stroke. It's been a great engine until last year when I had to have the powerhead overhauled. Runs great again, but I have a pretty good oil leak and have eliminated the oil tank and hoses/fitting as the source. I'm fairly sure that it's the oil pump itself. I'd kinda like to eliminate the oil injection application and just go with mixed fuel if it's a viable option. Does anyone have any experience with this type of conversion? Thanks. Jimmy. 757.404.0185
