Changing 4 stroke motor oil

Hello all

I hope I’m in the right forum for this. I want to change the oil in my Yamaha 9.9hp outboard motor. I was told to use marine 10w30 oil. What is the difference between that oil and regular 10w30 motor oil?

Marine engines operate under more load than automobiles. They therefore require oils that do not thin out as much as automotive oils.

The spec for marine engine oil is FCW (Four Cycle Water cooled). I would stick with the proper oil.
