Some of the comments in the Return of #3 link are hilarious.

Re: Championship Weekend

You are going to be hard pressed to find a bigger #3 fan then me, but I for one would like to see that number back out there on the race track.

And I don't mind if its being driven by one of Richard Childress's grand kids either, I think if Jr. has a problem with it I would ask him if he thinks he is worthy of having that number on his car and if he even tried to say he was I would smack him.

Re: Championship Weekend

I agree, Lipp. Jr already said he wont run it. Nor could he unless RCR gave/sold the number to Hendrick. I believe Jr ran that number for one race. It was for some special deal, I forget. Maybe it was in a Nationwide race. I doubt he would care if one of Richards grand kids ran it... Heck, Richard ran the number when he was a youngin', why not have a grand kid run it too...

but some people need to be punched in the face, tell me I am wrong!!

I am in Law enforcement, we have a saying that has been proven to be true time and time again, "help everyone you can but have a plan to kill every damn one of them"

So just to prove my case Donovan McNabb....

A lot of possible last Cup races for a few drivers. Martin, Montoya, Burton - who knows. Also Bobby Lebonte (not in today's race) and Joe Nemechek have lost Cup rides.

Lipp,

I was just messing with you. I don't think punching someone in the face over a race is an acceptable form of communication!

Yikes!

Re: Championship Weekend

Fire and the rear tire exploding off Menards car in the pits was the most exciting part of the race. Someone could have really been hurt..... Rim and all blew off..

Re: Championship Weekend

I have been watching NASCAR for a really long time now and have never seen a fire like was on Paul's car, that was a real odd one!

Re: Championship Weekend

Hamlin wins and surprise, surprise Johnson wins the Championship. Kenseth finished 2nd in the race, and well, points....

Re: Championship Weekend

I agree the most exciting part was Menards tire. 2nd most was when Gordon spun on the restart and JJ tried to wreck. Gordon would have felt bad since he's the majority owner of the 48. Jeff didn't win the Cup Championship, but he took the Owners points over Gibbs.

Are you talking about NASCAR? No punching in the face??:D:D

It was a very good season, I saw my home team do things most thought impossible so I have no complaints, I'm happy that Kurt Busch did his best to show my team what is possible and I am happy to see him leave, again, no complaints from me at all!!

Now we wait for February and do it all over again!!

All I hear from the Talking Heads every weekend is how competative it is and how hard it is to win yet the same team/driver has won what? 6 of the last 7 championships! I've lost interest.

Re: Championship Weekend

Close, 6 out of 8. I agree, it's not good for the sport. I've somewhat lost enthusiasm not so much because of Jimmie, although that doesn't help, it's more about how boring more races than not have become. They talk about pit strategy, how many passes on the track(I hope so, it is suppose to be a race) blah, blah etc. Sure, that's part of it. I also want to see drivers mix it up on the track. There's less and less of that because everyone is points racing and drivers get mad if another car even touches them. This isn't open wheel.....

Re: Championship Weekend

I would love to see it go back to the old days of racing, when the crews actually built their own cars instead of the sanitized version we have these days. As with many things in life, it has become a cookie cutter business, for the most part, you can't even tell the differences in the cars on the track, they pretty much look the same.
