Re: Championship week-Who wins the big games?

Some bowls always have a Big 10 team and some are invites. Not going to research how many of each.... Who's going to turn down an invite? Big 10 had a bad year. It is what it is......................
Not disputing how many are going. They are all automatic invited based on if they are bowl eligible or not which will always be pretty much the same number no matter how good or bad the conference is. Same is true for the Pac-12, Big 12, SEC ...I am just curious how many of these the Big 10 will actually win. I am thinking one which may be Northwestern.

Hence, the definition of a BW fan.

Since you're trying to be smarter than the rest of us:

And where I come from BW stands for Baldwin-Wallace. What does it mean to you?

What I truly am is a real football fan that isn't blinded by regional bias, who recognizes greatness when he sees it. If that is what BW means, then I am it, proudly. In the meantime, why don't you explain your code to everyone?

I'm sure if he'd meant Baldwin-Wallace he'd have typed "B - W fan" :)

Judging by the chronology of the posts he is probably referring to the long list of teams whose bandwagons you've jumped on, according to the list that you posted.

But that would just be a guess. ;)

See, that's where he and you are wrong. No bandwagon fan, a true football fan. Again, able to recognize greatness, wherever it's played.
And since college kids are gone every 4-5 years anyway, no team is the same now as it was even 10 years ago.

Now, when it comes to the NFL, while I appreciated the way the Denver Broncos played with John Elway, the Bills with Jim Kelley, and the Buccaneers with Coach Dungy, I am, have been, and will continue to be a Steelers fan.

Well, the coaching carousel has left the Natural State in quite a state. UofA gained a coach and ASU lost one. Really thought Malzahn would stick around a little while longer.

Wow! Amazing Bielema is leaving Wisconsin. I have some friends who are going to be upset.

Does the contract include a Harley and a staff mistress?

Really hate to see him go.

Will this news change how they play in the Rose Bowl? I wonder....

No offense meant to the Razorback fans, they had a tough year too.

Not clear if he will coach...probably not. I spoke with some Wisconsin fans including one who works for the university and she didn't know yet.

UCLA's Mora was approached by Auburn and Tennessee. He said no to both and that he is staying at UCLA...Thank God! Hopefully he is not like **** Vermeil who left UCLA after 2 seasons.

Go Bruins...Beat the Bears!

I just read Coach Diaco isn't taking the BC ,that would have sucked, not many college teams I really don't like but Boston College is at the top of the list.

He has to the top defensive cordinators in the country, ND has a pretty decent defense I would say, I don't know that he will ever take a top job, he is really camera shy and prefers being behind the scenes, not ideal for a head coach.

Head coach hiring is a real crap shoot expecially with compressed performance window, any more 2 years isn't uncommon and it is on fun being on a caoching carrosel.

I would have given Chizek another year at least, he is 2 years out of a national championship for Petes sake so he obviously do the job but someone will be glad to pick him up.

That is pretty crazy that Auburn got that bad that fast.

So the only game on this week end is the Army- Navy game, I would have to go with Navy I think but haven't really watched either of them since Navy in Ireland which seems like 10 years ago now.

I agree they should have given Chizik at least one more year, but welcome to the SEC! I really feel for those kids at A State.

Why? His only accomplishment was winning the BCS with a QB that they paid to go there.

While Bruce thinks I am a bandwagon fan, I am not a fan of any SEC team or the way they conduct themselves. I am a realist, though, and know that they have the best teams. Are they cheating more than everybody else to do it? Probably, but they are getting it done the best. So if you can't beat your rival, you aren't going to stay around very long in the SEC.

It'll be interesting to see how Bielema does at Arkansas, with the access to much better athletes than he's had at Wisconsin.

I would be shocked if he didn't finish out the season. If I was a bettin' man, I would put good money on him coaching.... This is WI 3rd straight Rose Bowl appearance. Bret had a lot of success up here. I'm sure he's following the money...........

ND defense is #1 in the country. Their defense got them to the BCS championship game......

I am reading articles today that says he isn't. Not that Wisconsin had much chance of beating Stanford but this makes it less likely.

If he doesn't finish out the season, that would be pretty sad on his part......... You don't bail on your team like that at the end of the season.

Not his choice, I'm sure. I bet within 15 minutes of the announcement Barry had somebody cleaning out Bret's desk for him. No way Barry is going to let him coach the Rose Bowl.

As of this a.m., it hasn't been decided who will coach. Bret hasn't been ruled out, yet. Or at least is hasn't been announced he's out. Barry told ESPN that he may coach the team himself. I guess time will tell.
