Why wasn't it debated? Cuz Feingold and McCain are about the only ones with balls, and I'm beginning to wonder about McCain.<br /><br />The case is a slam dunk! We got a law (FISA). A crime, first denied in April 2004. A confession in December 2005 only after the facts began trickling out. The only thing left is will he resign from pressure? Be impeached? Or indicted and convicted for any number of legal transgressions. He should go for Censure. That'd be the Least he can get. But none of this is going to happen until the Democrats take over the House and Senate in 06 and start getting some REAL answers. Unless the Grand Jury indicts him first along with Cheney and Rove for outing a CIA Agent in time of war (that's high treason, isn't it?)

I find it ironic, if not laughable, that the folks who are so worried about "illegal" phone taping, are the same group who now want to nationalize the internet.<br /><br />Hey Willie et.al... Just exactly which US citizen was violated? Who are they? Just curious, after all this time and discussion, still no mention of who's rights have actually been violated.

I have not had my line tapped. I know this because I don't converse with members of the Taliban, or UBL or any know or unknown terrorist group. But thankfully during a time of war, the liberals want to call people out on it. It was OK for Clinton, and Reagan, and Carter, and Bush Sr. But now that we are in a declared war lets give up our mechanisms of surveilance. Because we are afraid. Or is it politics at the expense of our troops. But they are just like Nazi's anyway. Right Mr. Durbin. But just keeping with the legal theme, who exactly had their rights violated? You want to censor the president for violating the rights of Who??????<br /><br />PW2 the president is given additional latitude during times of war. Clinton used these methods, where was lil' Russ when that was going on? And just as you stated it isn't congress's job to infringe on the executives powers either. This type of public gamesmanship is for only one purpose and it is digusting. Tell me again exactly what lil' russ has done to make this country safe from terrorism?

I just got a phone call from the DNC looking for a donation. I kind of went off on them. I told them I will not be giving any money to any national Democrat originations until the grow a set of balls and start standing up to these Republicans. But I will give and have given to individual Democrats that I feel have shown they have backbone. And this latest episode with Feingold just reinforced my position.<br /><br />If the Dems don't stop trying to be all things to everybody they're going to screw-up these upcoming midterms. They have to stop kissing up to the Republican voters. They're not going to vote Dem no matter what. If they would just stand their ground and show a little conviction maybe they could tap into the 50% of the American public that doesn't vote and bring them into their camp! Rant off.

The democrats have made quite a joke of themselves over the last few years. The frequency with which they get caught bluffing or otherwise screwing up is comical, and the frequency with which their apologists in the so-called mainstream media get caught with their hands in the cookie jar is a veritable riot!<br /><br />Maybe someday some folks with common sense will regain control of the democratic party and run the radical left outa town on a rail. When that happens, the whole country will be better off. Until then, the republicans will continue spending like drunken sailors and the democrats will continue to be slapstick entertainment.<br /><br />I ain't holdin' my breath. The frequency with which they get caught brown-nosing or otherwise rubber-stamping Dubya is comical, and the frequency with which their apologists such as Limbaugh and O'Reilly get caught in lies, deception, and criminal activies (drugs and sexual harassment respectively) is a veritable riot!<br /><br />Maybe someday some folks with common sense will regain control of the House and Senate and run the radical left AND the radical right outa town on a rail. When that happens, the whole country will be better off. Until then, the republicans will continue pushing America closer and closer to bankruptcy to fund war and rich-class tax cuts, and the republicans will continue to be slapstick entertainment.<br /><br />I ain't holdin my breath.
