Long story short: Bought a old (but runs great) CD-10. Ran great, was cooling just fine, then noticed no water coming out of the exhaust after it was doing so earlier.
Ordered new impeller, but when I took the unit apart, the impeller was just fine. What I noticed, was that there was no seal between the impeller wear plate and bearing housing. In my parts catalog, it shows a seal. http://www.marineengine.com/newparts/part_details.php?pnum=OMC0327031&ptype=&Engine=&Model=
I did not see that seal when I took apart my unit.
I did not see any broken pieces that would indicate the seal failed. Nothing of that nature.
I am puzzled. Does that seal make the impeller unit operable? It seems that it would just seal away the water from the gear oil in lower unit.
Thanks
