Hi, I have a compound question #1 is do I need to have a starting battery for a 2 cycle 30hp Evinrude? #2 what CCA would be sufficient for this motor? Thanks!
Thank you, It’s a 1988 I believe.Shouldn't need much. How old is it? Even on my old school 28hp Evinrude I prefer a group 31 with at least 750 CCA. A group 21 would suffice but I like more capacity.
Thank you, I’m pretty new to owning a fishing boat so there’s a lot I dont know. Would you use just a new “deep cycle” battery or a ”dual purpose marine“ battery to start the motor, run a occasional very small trolling motor, power night lights (occasionall) and occasional very small bilge and live well pump. Thanks ag!300 CCA will spin it over without an issue.. FWIW I start my 20hp Johnson on the stand with an Everstart U1 lawn tractor battery.
But a battery with such low capacity will also not have a lot of amp hour capacity at all
