I got 3 for you. Marine vinyl (I think I'm going with that for my project), a coating like Durabak, or even simply paint with sand in it.

I used durabak for the deck of my 16' thompson and it came out nice. It also cleans up pretty good too.
here's a shot of it after I finished

If I had to do it over again I think I would have gone with 3 coats instead of 2. I just feel that it would be better if it was thicker.

I had the same problem.
I removed the glue-down carpet, then painted the deck with a 2 part epoxy paint mixed with sand for traction. Worked like a charm. I also added a snap-in carpet so we could have it both ways.

That's some slick looking decking! How wide and long can you get that diamond plate stuff? I think that might be the cats pajamas right there!

Is it just laid in or did you glue it down?

The stuff I had was six feet wide. It was a 10 foot piece that was left on a roll. This stuff is what in used in ambulances and rescue units. to install it I used 3M Super spay adhesive. Sprayed the floor and the back side of the flooring. This made a stong bong but could be taking up if needed

That is exactly what I had planned for my boat. I was only able to get it 3' wide or in tiles though. Where did you find your stuff? Looks way better than vinyl imo and more comfortable and durable as well.
