Carburetor Fuel Additive

Would it wise to use a Carburetor and Fuel Injector fuel additive for my 1986-87 9.9hp Mercury motor? Unfortunatley, I cannot find just a carburetor cleaner additive. It is only sold as a carburetor and fuel injector. Could it cause future issues like "gunking" up the fuel? Thanks,
