Carbs were leaking fuel out of the front of them, so I rebuilt them but didn't put new floats in. They still leak. Any ideas on why this is or how I can correct it?
Floats go bad all the time. You need to inspect yours. The foam floats disolve, the hard plastic floats crack. If they are OK, and adjusted properly, replace the inlet needle and seat.
Is there supposed to be a gasket under the seat? When I took them apart there was not a gasket, nor did it appear the rebuilt kit had one so I reinstalled with without a gasket.
Some of them had the gasket, some didn't. Install the gasket and see if it makes the seat too high and the float levers will be in the wrong place. Remember when inverted the float levers should be parallel with the face of the carb bowl cover.
