Carb Question

This is reference to a 1985 Mercury Black Max XR2 with Dual Float Carb's.

Anyway, to make a long story short, started it up this AM and there was fuel gushing out of the fuel bowl vent jets (triangular opening at the top of the carb). Nothing was coming out of the other two vent jets on the other two carb's.

So, my question is what is, is this "normal". I assume it is not but just wanted to confirm. ALso, what could cause something like this to occur? Thanks!

Yup...that's what is was.

Engine still has a miss in it....although it seems like it's trying to work itself out....sometimes.

It finally fired on all 6-cyl for a while then it was back to doing the same old thing....guess I'll check the other two carbs. Thanks!
