Ok so I'm working on 1989 85hp force. Have other post with work I'm doing on it. Everyone on here has been a great help. Got my carbs cleaned out today installed the fired it up and now has is leaking on my middle carb out of the two hole on the top has one on each side. It leaks even when I'm priming the gas line. It is not a small leak as it is more of a flow of gas. Do y'all think I have something out of adjustment or is something broke. Thank in advanced

Carb float out of adjustment, valve tip stuck or worn. Post on how you adjusted the floats; level and drop so we all know where we stand maybe?

Do as Jerry suggests and post pic of inlet needle next to a ruler, he ran or still runs 85’s so he’s you best option. I’m sure the parts are still out there though.

Its hard to tell if the one I ordered has a rubber tip or not. Some of them do and some don't.

It depends on the inlet which comes with kit if you ordered the kit. Pay close attention to parts you’re yankin out and parts you’re replacing them with. Post pics post pics-good luck

The kit, be real careful when trying to "fix" or install any of these parts.
Some kits have a seat in them and some carbs, the seat won't come out??

I believe your right. It's hard to tell on the picture I posted but the very top of that needle is missing. If I look up in the hole it goes in I see a small piece of orange something I'm guessing thats what it is. I was going to get a small needle or something and try and fish it out once my kit comes in

The tip of the needle is missing and the passages need to be blown out with compressed air and then cleaned and blown out again. New needles are required and you need to make sure that they are the correct type with the "rubber" tip. Often when you order them all steel needles are sent. Those are made to seal with a rubber seat that this carb probably does not have.

The one I ordered shows it has a rubber tip. Atleast in the picture anyways. Hope it's right.
